About Wander Wit Treasures

About Me Picture

Hi, I’m Anne – designer, hiker, ornament enthusiast, photo-protector… and yes, autistic.
Wander Wit Treasures was born from the idea that the trail doesn’t have to end when the hike is over – and that there’s room in life for practical wanderlust and pretty little things.

Originally from Germany, I now live with my family in the French Alps – the kind of place people go on holiday, while I get to call it home. We’ve walked over 4,000 kilometres of European long-distance trails – from the well-marked, culture-rich camaraderie of the Caminos to the wild solitude of Sweden’s Kungsleden. And while I love a good outdoor store (they tend to be my happy place in town – much more so than any fashion boutique ever could be), I kept missing something:

Where are the keepsakes?
Where are the little moments that stay, once the trail ends?

With a background in business and programming, I first started building tools for hikers to protect their photography online. Once I realised that I understood the technical side of watermarking and image removal better than most photographers and designers, I created watermark systems that actually stand up to current tech – not just wishful thinking.

But what really drew me in were the ornaments, especially the ceramic ones. What started with trail markers and milestone medallions turned into a deep design rabbit hole – and I’m still happily digging. These little keepsakes let us celebrate big walks, gift tiny joys, and keep a part of the outdoors close, even when we’re back at our desks.

And like many good trails, this one comes with detours:
Sometimes I design for other occasions. Sometimes I create designs for people to use in their own DIY projects. Sometimes I experiment on whatever caught my interest this time. I live in French, dream in German and work in English – and I'm always learning something new. The next happy rabbit hole is just around the bend.

So here we are.
Not your average outdoor shop.
Just a small, slightly off-trail corner of the internet, where the hiking spirit lives on – long after the boots are off.
